Hyogo | Akashi Kaikyo Bridge

Enjoy a magnificent 360-degree view on top of the world’s longest suspension bridge

With a bridge length of 3,911 meters and a central span length of 1,991 meters, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, which connects Kobe City and Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, is the longest suspension bridge in the world. At the Hashi no Kagakukan, the Bridge Exhibition Center, you can learn about the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and join the spectacular Bridge World Tour, which goes to the top of the bridge tower about 300m above the sea through a management passage that is normally inaccessible. Enjoy the magnificent 360-degree panoramic view of Hyogo Prefecture while feeling the sea breeze blowing from the heart of Japan. Also, don’t miss Maiko Park, which is located in the same area only a 3-minute walk from JR Maiko Station or Sanyo Maiko-koen Station. From here you can overlook the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, which is beautifully lit up at night, and enjoy beautiful views of the sea as the sun reflects on the water in the morning or casts vibrant colors at sunset.
