With a total length of 3,911 meters and a central span of 1,991 meters, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is an engineering marvel and one of the world's largest suspension bridges, connecting Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, and Awaji on Awaji Island. You can learn the details about the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge at the Akashi Kaikyo BRIDGE EXHIBITION CENTER located within a five-minute walk from JR Maiko Station or Sanyo Electric Railway Maiko-koen Station. On the Kobe side, you can join Bridge World for Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, a spectacular tour that takes you to the top of the tower about 300 meters above sea level through a maintenance path that is normally off-limits to the public. Enjoy a 360° panoramic view of Osaka Bay and the Seto Inland Sea while feeling the sea breeze from the top of the bridge tower. Maiko Park at the foot of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is also not to be missed. You can enjoy the night illumination of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the beautiful view of the sea reflecting the sunrise and changing color at sunset.
