Takeaway Dessert Treats in Hokkaido, Tokyo, and Osaka
Have you ever tried parfait, but in cans? These innovative desserts are created by GAKU, an operator of a chain parfait specialty restaurants in Hokkaido, Tokyo and Osaka. With luscious parfaits housed in cans, you can indulge in these sweet treats even while on the go.
Modelled after parfaits eaten at night (夜パフェ in Japanese), which first became popular in Hokkaido, these delightful desserts go with any beverage, but pair exceptionally well with a hot cup of black coffee.
GAKU’s OKASHI GAKU has a patisserie in Sapporo which sells these delicious canned treats, and they come in a variety of exciting flavours.
One of the most popular choices is the Shortcake Can, which is a concoction of fresh strawberries, sponge cake and cream that looks almost too picture-perfect to eat.
There is also the Fuwa Can; it contains cream and chiffon cake in blueberry, strawberry, and citrus jam flavours. Another interesting creation is their Tiramisu Can, seemingly for adults, as it is named “Adult’s Tiramisu Can” (大人のティラミス缶 in Japanese).
Besides the patisserie in Sapporo, you can also get these canned parfaits with the vending machines located around Hokkaido, Tokyo, and Osaka!
Additionally, you can find these canned parfaits at a number of GAKU’s other shop outlets such as Parfaiteria beL in Shibuya, and Momobukuro in Ikebukuro.
