The Chikuma River (Shinano River) flows through Nagano Prefecture in central Japan and is the longest river in the country. Around Iiyama City and Nozawa Onsen Village, the river is wide and flows slowly, making it a great location for standup paddleboarding (SUP). SUP beginners can get up on their feet and feel at ease here on this gentle section of the river.
