The weeping cherry tree of Asuwa Shrine has lived on top of Mt. Asuwa, Fukui Prefecture for hundreds of years and is loved by everyone in this area. Standing over 10 meters tall and over 20 meters wide in total, seeing is believing when it comes to this beauty of a cherry tree. Whether you choose to see it during the day or during its light-up at night, it is quite a breathtaking sight to behold. Pictures and words alone cannot fully capture its majesty, especially when it fully blooms in spring.

 

How to get there

 

From JR Shin-Osaka Station, take the Hokuriku Line to JR Fukui Station (105 minutes), then take the Keifuku Bus (71 Undo-Koen Line) to the Keyacho stop (2 minutes). The tree is a , then 9-minute walk away.
