Daisen-Oki National Park is rich in nature, history and culture. It is home to Mount Daisen—considered the nation's oldest sacred mountain—the Oki Islands, a historical site of exile and a designated UNESCO Global Geopark, and Izumo Oyashiro, a grand shrine at the center of the Japanese creation myth.
