Skiing & Snowboarding in Hokkaido

World-class powder snow in Hokkaido

Siberian winds blow massive amounts of powder snow across the northern island of Hokkaido. Major resorts like Niseko, Furano and Rusutsu see accumulations of about 15 meters per year and the long ski season stretches from November to May. Resorts vary in character from built-up Niseko to rustic Asahidake, and the larger ones provide a wide range of activities beyond skiing that take advantage of their rich natural surroundings.
