The Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale will be held for 51 days, from 29 July to 17 September 2018.
Held once every three years, this international art festival features exhibitions of contemporary artworks at locations in the Echigo Tsumari area of Niigata Prefecture, such as the woodlands, rice terraces, settlements and closed schools.
The event aims to revitalise regions through art.
The theme of the 2018 festival is “Linking Nature and Men”. Divided into six blocks, the entire Echigo Tsumari area will act as the venue for the art festival. Existing unused buildings will be re-purposed into art museums and unique accommodations. Enjoy art blended into Japan’s rural landscape at the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale!
We recommend a minimum of a 1 night, 2 day stay to fully enjoy the artworks.
