Partners Information: JR Central released a new smartphone app, the Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen Reservation App. This free app allows users to buy tickets for the Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen (bullet train) line, which connects Japan’s Golden Route (Tokyo, Mt Fuji, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and more).
Features
- Book seats and buy tickets from 1 month prior to departure, from both inside and outside Japan for up to 6 people
- Change your reservation as many times as you like, free of charge
- Collect your tickets at ticket machines at Tokaido Sanyo Shinkansen stations, using the credit card you paid with
- Book and buy tickets on all Tokaido Sanyo line trains, including the fastest train, NOZOMI
Important: The app can not be used in conjunction with the Japan Rail Pass. It’s for travellers who wish to purchase point-to-point tickets in advance.
