2018.6.18 Northern Osaka Prefecture Earthquake

On June 18th, 2018 at approximately 8:00 am JST (23:00 pm GMT), a strong earthquake (Magnitude 6.1) occurred in the northern Osaka area. According to Japan Meteorological Agency, this earthquake poses no tsunami risk.

Free WiFi Service for emergency

SSID “00000JAPAN” is available after the earthquake in northern Osaka Prefecture.

Free public Wi-Fi service with SSID “00000JAPAN”, available only in case of disasters, is now provided in the whole area in Osaka Prefecture since June 18th. Without any contract with telecommunication careers in Japan, internet access is now available for anyone by connecting wireless LAN through this SSID. With any Wi-Fi available devices such as smartphones, tablets or PCs, everyone can receive wireless LAN service by choosing the network “00000JAPAN” on au Wi-Fi SPOT, docomo Wi-Fi spots (except some parts), and Softbank Wi-Fi spots.

Shinkansen, JR, Osaka Metro, Hankyu Railway, Hanshin Electric Railway, Kintetsu Railway, Keihan Railway, and Nankai Electric Railway have resumed their normal operations. Details can be found on following websites.
