Higashiyama Walking Course in Takayama

Partners Information: Takayama City in Gifu is home to a temple area called Higashiyama. This area is inspired by a district of the same name in Kyoto.

Lord Kanamori Nagachika, who built Takayama as a castle town, had a deep love of Kyoto. He built many temples in the hills of the eastern part of town.

On your next trip to Takayama, why not try the Higashiyama Walk? It is a 3.5km walking course from the Higashiyama Temple Area to Shiroyama Park.

You can reach the start of the walk from JR Takayama Station in 15 minutes.
