About Ishikawa

Ishikawa Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan located in the Chubu region on Honshu Island.
Ishikawa is on the Sea of Japan coast. The northern part of the prefecture consists of the narrow Noto Peninsula, while the southern part is wider and consists mostly of mountains with the prefecture's chief city, Kanazawa, located in the coastal plain. The prefecture also has some islands, including Notojima, Mitsukejima, and Hegurajima. It is only about 3 hours on the bullet train from Tokyo to Kanazawa. It is much closer to Komatsu airport from Tokyo.
13% of the total land area of the prefecture is designated as Natural Parks, Quasi-National Parks and Prefectural Natural Parks.
Diving here will be at Noto Jima Island. The marine life here are very unique and beautiful.

Noto Island

Enjoy the beautiful underwater seaweed forest

The ocean around Noto is registered as World Agricultural Heritage.
It is a popular dive spot of the "Sea of Japan" by the underwater photographers of Japan.
Noto Island is a 70km saline Island located off the coast of Noto peninsula. The Island itself is connected by a bridge so there are no issues of getting to this Island form the mainland. Due to it's geographical location, the Noto peninsula acts as a shield against the harsh winter winds, making Noto Island a ideal diving location all year around.
The visibility is good and you may have chance to see wild dolphins during your visit.
