The 27th Japanese Film Festival  (JFF) is making its way to Australia! In 2023, the festival will be touring five major cities across the country, kicking off in Canberra on 30th September and ending in Melbourne on 5th November.

At this year’s JFF, you might encounter characters such as the legendary poet and novelist, Kenji Miyazawa, a family of drag queens facing an unforeseen reality, or a group of office workers beginning to realise they are trapped in a week-long time loop…

Featuring a total of 25 films, this year’s program will showcase the latest box office hits alongside rare 35mm screenings of prolific film director Ko Nakahira’s works, for approximately 177 screenings in total – you’ll be spoilt for choice!

The full program  is out now!
