Partners Information: Umejoki Potel Kyoto, the first hotel under the new brand ‘Potel,’ recently opened on 14 October.
It’s unique name is coined from the words ‘Port’ and ‘Hotel’, as the brand hopes to be a conduit for the ongoing exchange of ideas and culture between people from Japan and abroad.
It’s conveniently located next to Kyoto Aquarium and a 5-minute walk away from Umekoji Kyoto Nishi Station (or 15 minutes from the central exit of JR Kyoto Station).
The hotel features 144 guest rooms (both western-style and Japanese-style), a restaurant, café, multi-purpose roms, a sento (public bath) and even a dedicated space to discover the world of Japanese sake and fermentation.
