The Japan Convention Bureau, a division of the Japan National Tourism Organization, has launched new added value programmes for incentives/corporate events and association conferences. JCB is the national convention bureau for Japan, dedicated to providing unbiased and complimentary support for meeting planners considering Japan as the destination for business events. In addition to offering planning resources and collateral, JCB also offers fam trips and added value support for meetings.
Incentive/Corporate Meeting Support
The Japan Convention Bureau offers a range of support programmes and services for eligible corporate meetings and incentive groups. Benefits include:
During Planning
- Assistance with booking unique venues
- Coordinating support from local city convention bureaux
- Sponsoring flights and domestic travel for site inspections
- Providing marketing materials to assist with presentations to clients
- Introductions to local DMCs and suppliers
During the event
- Welcome reception at the airport for delegates
- Welcome speech or letter from the president of the Japan National Tourism Organization
- Providing giveaways and information packs
- Coordinating support from local city convention bureaux
The Japan Convention Bureau also organises the annual Visit Japan Travel & MICE Mart—a hosted buyer programme for meeting and incentive planners. This event combines business meetings with a fam trip to showcase Japan’s value as a meetings destination.
Association Conference Meeting Support
With 12 global convention cities and an extensive support programme for association meeting planners, it’s no surprise that Japan is the number one destination in Asia for association events.
The Japan Convention Bureau offers a range of support to conference planners, including:
- Assisting with venue sourcing, including unique venues
- Coordinating support from local city convention bureaux and local organising committees
- Introductions to local suppliers
- Sponsoring flights and domestic transportation for site inspections
The Japan Convention Bureau also organises Meet Japan—an annual hosted buyer programme designed to introduce association meeting planners to potential host cities in Japan.
