Partners Information: Takayama Festival, registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, will held on April 14th to 15th.
The event is also regarded as one of the three most beautiful festivals in Japan.
The main attractions of Takayama Festival are the magnificent floats.
All floats are beautifully decorated with Japanese classical carvings, marionettes, elaborately woven thick curtains, lacquer-ware, and bamboo blinds produced by the skills of the master artisans.
You can enjoy the marionettes performance, traditional dance performance like lion and a festival procession of local people wearing traditional kimono.
At nightfall, you can also admire the floats decorated with 100 chochin lanterns lined up on the historical streets.
