"teamLab: Digitized World Heritage Site of Toji" temporary exhibition

Partners Information: teamLab will host "teamLab: Digitized World Heritage Site of Toji - TOKIO INKARAMI" at Toji Temple, a World Heritage Site in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. TeamLab will transform Toji Temple, which has a history of about 1200 years and is the only existing remains of the Heian-Period capital, into an interactive art space that changes according to the presence of people.

Toji Temple, a World Heritage Site and National Treasure, has a five-storied pagoda which is the tallest wooden pagoda in Japan, and was built around 1200 years ago. It is said to be the first esoteric Buddhist temple in Japan, and the head temple of the Shingon Sect of Buddhism.

teamLab has an art project called "Digitized City": it is a project that uses non-material digital technology to transform a place into art without physically changing the structure or the place at all.

The exhibition will be held from Friday 6 August 6 to Sunday 19 September 2021. Ticket sales have already started.
