Kyoto welcomed 8600 delegates from 121 countries for the 23rd World Congress of Neurology in September 2017, far exceeding the original expectations 6000 participants. This made it the largest congress in the history of WCN.
Kyoto appealed to the delegates not only because of its status as the traditional heart of Japanese culture, but also for the excellent organization and inspiring scientific content designed by the local organising committee—including lectures from three Nobel laureates.
