Experience the world of ‘Attack on Titan’ in Hita

‘Attack on Titan’ was created by Hajime Isayama, a manga artist born and raised in Hita, Oita Prefecture. Now fans of the manga and anime can experience the world of the famous series in his hometown.

Bronze statues of the main character, Eren, and his childhood friends, Mikasa and Armin are featured at Oyama Dam in Hita. You can also find a bronze statue of another beloved character, Levi Ackerman, placed in front of JR Hita Station. Both statues have become famous sightseeing spots.

In March 2021 the ‘Attack on Titan in HITA Museum’ opened in Oyama, creating a fascinating new spot for manga lovers to experience. A range of exhibits are on display, some exclusive to this museum, including original drawings of the series and works from Isayama’s childhood.

If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll want to add Hita to your itinerary for your next visit to Japan!
