Uminonakamichi Seaside Park in Fukuoka

Field of nemophila on Flower Hill at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, Fukuoka City

Partners Information: Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, Fukuoka City is known for its colourful seasonal displays such as the sea of nemophilia that blanket Flower Hill each spring.

The best time to see the nemophila, also known as baby blue eyes, is usually from around from mid-April to early May. It’s truly a sight to behold, with over one million flowers spanning an area of some 12,000 square metres.

In addition to the floral displays the family-orientated park consists of a number of different areas including several playgrounds, a zoo and even a water park in summer. You can wander the park on foot or hire a bicycle or electric scooter to explore the 12km-long network of cycling trails.

The new area also includes Kyushu’s first athletic tower, a barbeque area and a bath facility that overlooks Hakata Bay.
